Hutec has a strong connection to the Greater Bay of Plenty region, and we are committed to being a key player in the support and development of our local community. We believe being part of a community means more than simply doing business in it.

We’re proud to support the people, businesses, events and initiatives that make our local communities stronger and more connected. From sponsoring local clubs and events to supporting community projects and causes that matter to our team, we’re committed to making a positive contribution wherever we can.

We partner with local high schools in Kawerau, Edgecumbe and Whakatane to offer Gateway placements and work experience for local teens.

Hutec also support our employees that regularly volunteer for New Zealand’s emergency services.

Putting our support into action

  • Tongariro National Trout Centre

    The Taupo Fishery Team identified predatory shags as a major threat to young trout destined for the 'kids' fish-out pond'.

    In response, Hutec designed and constructed protective structures that reduced fish stress, boosted growth rates, and increased the number of trout available for release.

  • Trident High School

    The school approached Hutec for assistance with straightening and strengthening their existing volleyball posts.

    Hutec was pleased to take on the project, helping to ensure the posts were safe, secure and fit for purpose so students could continue their training and games.

  • Delish Pizza Kawerau

    When a devastating break-in left a local store vulnerable, Hutec quickly stepped up to help.

    Our team designed, fabricated, and installed custom security bars on the windows and doors, securing the shop and giving the business owners immediate peace of mind.
